Susan Tomasky has held numerous leadership positions in the energy industry, government and the Ohio business community. She held several senior executive positions at American Electric Power, including President, AEP Transmission, Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel, and Executive Vice President for Shared Services. Prior to that, she was engaged in private law practice in Washington, D.C., and also served as general counsel of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, where she led efforts to craft rules to develop competitive electricity markets in the U.S. Tomasky currently serves on several corporate boards including: Public Service Enterprise Group, where she Chairs the Audit Committee and serves on Governance and Nominating Committee, the General Partner of Summit Midstream MLP, chairing the Conflicts Committee, and the Tesoro Corp, where she serves as Lead Director and Chairs the Governance Committee. She served on the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland from 2009-1025, and chaired their Audit Committee. She is currently Chairman of the Board of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. She has served on the Boards of numerous civic and arts organizations including, currently, the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA), Kenyon College and the Royal Shakespeare Company -America. Tomasky is a frequent speaker on energy issues, board governance and women in leadership.
In 2001 and 2002, Ms. Tomasky was named one of the world's "50 key women in energy worldwide" by Commodities Now magazine. She has received numerous professional and community awards, including YWCA Woman of Achievement, the People of Vision Award from Prevent Blindness Ohio, the 2011 Glass Ceiling Award from the National Diversity Council. She lives in Columbus with her husband, Ron Ungvarsky. Their daughter Victoria is a student at Kenyon College.
