Robin Walker-Lee is the retired Executive Vice-President, General Counsel and Secretary of TRW Automotive Holdings, one of the world’s largest automotive suppliers and one of the top financial performers in the industry, listed on the New York Stock Exchange with 2014 sales of $17.5 billion. The global leader in automotive safety, TRW produces advanced active systems, such as vehicle dynamic controls in braking and steering, and sophisticated occupant safety systems, including airbags and seat belts, as well as related electronics. TRW was acquired in May 2015 in a cash for stock sale by ZF, at which time Ms. Walker-Lee left the company. Ms. Walker-Lee joined the Board of Directors of Rexnord Corp. (NYSE: RXN) upon leaving TRW. She also serves on the Rexnord Nominating & Governance Committee.
Since joining TRW in 2010, Ms. Walker-Lee was a member of the TRW Executive Officer team and responsible for all legal matters. In that capacity, Ms. Walker-Lee advised company leadership and the Board of Directors on significant issues facing the company, including matters related to the acquisition of TRW stock by ZF, as well as the antitrust investigations of TRW commenced by the US Department of Justice and the European Commission.
Ms. Walker-Lee has focused her career on global business matters, particularly in emerging markets, and speaks French and Spanish. Prior to joining TRW, she held a number of leadership positions at General Motors, including Assistant General Counsel-Operations, and prior to that Regional General Counsel & VP Public Policy for GM Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. She also handled various high-profile corporate matters during the GM bankruptcy restructuring, on special assignment to the general counsel. Resourceful and practical, she is an invaluable partner to business leaders in crafting effective and successful strategies to meet objectives while protecting the company from unreasonable risk. With a strong background in global corporate compliance, including international trade and investment, Ms. Walker-Lee has provided high-level leadership in a variety of significant and sensitive issues that combine business, policy, and legal considerations.
Ms. Walker-Lee received her law degree magna cum laude from Michigan Law School, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and Executive Editor of the Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas.
